Assalaamu Alaikum, dear brothers and sisters today we are faced with new challenges and desires that almost make us deliberately mock the deen of Allah SWT.

Challenges like, My Husband wants a second wife but in order for him to be able to call her over from another country, he needs to give me a civil divorce, I have been advised that my Nikah is still valid as its just to fulfil the paperwork needed to get her VISA to enter the country. Islamically we are still married.

Well this is nonsense and a huge disservice to Allah SWT and the DEEN of apparent HAQ (Truth)
People want to commit fraud, lie and in front of Allah then want a prosperous marriage or life?
How is this even possible, if you base your contract on lies and fraud that we would expect any kind of goodness from it?
How is it possible that we think we can get away with this in the hereafter?
How is it possible that we can think that Allah SWT will not know that we are about to commit a crime and a huge sin?
These are the reasons we are in the turmoil that we are in all over the world, it is not anyone else’s fault but ours.
Build your foundations on solid truth even if it’s difficult and you will attain success.
Build your foundations on falsehood, lies and fraud, you will perish.
Be aware Allah SWT is watching our every move, do not forget this.

And in short if you apply for a civil divorce and it is completed, then yes you have broken your nikah too
