Complaints Procedure

Assalamu Aialikum Dear Brothers & Sisters, although we do pride ourselves in the service we pride but at times we can make mistakes and therefore we do have a formal complaints process and we do remind people when making a complaint please remain respectful and courteous as we will not entertain any rude, profanity, abuse, vulgarity or threats of violence, if you cannot maintain these rules we will report you to the Police and press for criminal charges.

  1. Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this Complaints Procedure is to provide a clear and transparent process for dealing with complaints concerning the services provided by The Islamic Sharia Council.

A complaint may relate to a failure to follow a process or procedure that is clearly set out on the Council’s website, theshariacouncil.org.uk, or to the way in which an applicant’s case has been handled.

The purpose of the complaints process is to allow the Council to consider concerns fairly, review the relevant information and, where appropriate, take any action considered necessary.

  1. What Constitutes a Complaint

A complaint is a formal expression of dissatisfaction where an applicant considers that a process or procedure published on the Islamic Sharia Council’s website has not been followed.

Complaints should identify the specific process or procedure that the complainant believes was not followed and provide sufficient information for the Council to investigate the matter.

  1. Who Can Make a Complaint

A complaint may be made by an applicant who has used the services of the Islamic Sharia Council.

Where a complaint is made on behalf of another person, the Council may require appropriate authority or consent before discussing confidential information relating to that person’s case.

  1. How to Submit a Complaint

Complaints should be submitted in writing by email to:

enquiries@theshariacouncil.org.uk

All correspondence should be clearly marked:

“For the attention of the Admin Team – Complaint”

The complainant should provide, where applicable:

  • Their full name and contact details
  • Details of the relevant application or case
  • A clear description of the complaint
  • The process or procedure which they believe was not followed
  • Any relevant information or documents supporting the complaint
  • The outcome or resolution they are seeking, where appropriate
  1. Acknowledgement of Complaints

The Council will acknowledge receipt of a complaint within 30 days.

As the Council operates with volunteers who manage complaints alongside their existing workload and responsibilities, investigations may take some time. The Council will consider complaints as
